PT Asuransi Wanamekar Handayani is a general insurance company which was established on December 31, 1996 based on The Company Notarial Document No. 107 by notary, Azhar Aliah SH. PT. Asuransi Wanamekar Handayani began its operations in 1998 based on the license granted by The Minister of Finance in The Republic of Indonesia No. 195/KMK.017/1998 dated march 24, 1998.

Initially, the majority of shares of PT Asuransi Wanamekar Handayani were held by The Ministry of Forestry of The Republic of Indonesia and therefore much of the scope of its activities was paralleled with the vision of the owners – this includes insuring the Indonesian Forestry.

In the Share Holder Meeting on January 2006 the amendment about increasing the company’s financial capital to Rp. 15.000.000.000,- and the changing of ownership was stated and finalized.
